How it works

I understand that senior photos are an expensive investment that some can’t justify, and that’s ok! 

This is why I offer scholarships (discounts) on an as-needed basis. If you need senior photos and are having trouble finding a photographer within your budget, I would love to help you out.

Upon inquiring, I send you a questionnaire. When filling out the questionnaire, please answer the prompts that apply to the scholarship program. Scholarships are offered to those with valid reasoning and the cost of your session will be discussed with me after questionnaire completion. 

Scholarship Sessions can only be booked during my less busy months of April, May, June, and October.

The Booking Process

Send me an inquiry using the contact form.

I send you a my "Senior Info Guide", my calendar link, and a "Senior Inquiry Questionnaire". Follow the steps to view senior session info, book your session date, and then fill out the questionnaire. 

I use your questionnaire responses to craft a proposal (contract & invoice). I'll email over your proposal link that includes your invoice, a contract to sign, and payment.
If you are under 18, a legal guardian must sign the contract for you.
A 50% retainer is due to reserve your session in my calendar and the second half of your payment is due on your session date.

You're booked! I follow up with my location and outfit guides. I suggest location ideas and I'm happy to help as you choose outfits.

I will suggest locations that best fit the feeling you're drawn to. The location guide includes locations all around the twin cities with sample galleries you can look through.
My outfit guide includes info to help choose outfit combinations and colors that photograph well.

Per the industry standard, an average of 50 edited images per hour is expected. However, I am passionate about exceeding expectations and delivering an abundance of beautifully edited images. There is no limit to the amount of images you will receive.

I have a super fun pop-up portable changing tent that I keep in my car. If your session includes an outfit change, I'll most likely carry it around! Its super easy to use- all black and zips closed for full body privacy. I typically like to find a secluded area to set it up to keep you comfortable.

I like to book most of my sessions 2-3 hours before sunset or when the sun is lower in the sky. This allows us to capture lighting to avoid harsh shadows on your face. I offer morning sessions per request but golden evening light is my favorite!

A 50% deposit is required to secure a your session and can easily be paid via card payment or bank transfer in your client portal. The remaining balance is due on the day of your session.
All spots are first come, with deposit down. I start booking summer senior sessions in Feb.

Believe it or not, overcast weather is ideal for photos. Clouds eliminate harsh shadows on your face, opening up so many more photo location opportunities! I like to wait until the last minute to reschedule for that reason. But, if it is really rainy, humid, or hot outside I will contact you. I set aside a few extra days each week to move around sessions as needed.

You do not need professional make-up or hair. My editing includes soft retouching so heavy make-up isn’t ever needed. I edit out anything that isn’t permanent. I’m happy to smooth out an annoying breakout that caught you by surprise. Things like scars and birth-marks I leave becasue they are a beautiful part of you! 
I do not recommend spray tans due to how they show up on camera. My editing naturally warms up the images so you don't need to worry about looking "too pale".
